ϟ Blargh

Has anyone else ever loved a book by a particular author, and then sought after more of his/her works, only to be disappointed when the other works, however many more copies sold and critically acclaimed, do not have the same resonance the first book striked?

After two more Murakami books, I don’t feel changed/inspired/moved as I did with Norwegian wood. I’m utterly lost and dissatisfied - real envious of the other million readers who delight in his plot twists and references to Russian authors and western pop. Why can’t I see what they see? D:
